Yamunotri:
*Located at an altitude of 3,293 meters, Yamunotri is the westernmost shrine in the Garhwal Himalayas.
*It is dedicated to the goddess Yamuna and is the source of the Yamuna River, considered the second most sacred river in India.
*The main attraction is the Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to the goddess Yamuna, which is reached via a trek from Janki Chatti.
*The actual source is the Champasar glacier, a difficult-to-access glacial lake.

Gangotri:

The town is known for the Gangotri Temple, a 18th-century structure dedicated to the goddess Ganga.
